Long con military romance scam. You already caught their lies. You should know, but if they can't send anything via a .mil email account, they're not really military. Only scammers ask for gift cards (razor, steam etc) as it's a fast non-refundable and often non-traceable way to send money. It's also very easy for victims to obtain as they're abundant in most retail stores.
Maybe you're already emotionally involved, but it's a scam.
Even if it wasn't a scammer, a person asking you for money when you haven't even met them yet is a joke and red flags. Just block them.
