| Scam contents | This scammer is claiming to be the famous country singer Trace Adkins, and he's been romance-scamming my elderly friend for the last year and trying (I think) to catch her in a long-term Bitcoin pig-butchering scam. He tells lies about "management problems" and says they can only talk on the Zangi app, and he's been promising to come see her on his next tour break so they can get married and he can take her to stay at his home with his daughters. He has also done multiple low-level Bitcoin investments for her, where she gives him a few hundred dollars and he buys the Bitcoin and then returns it to her along with the profit. Recently, he has been riling her up with talk about being in jail and then, a few days ago, in a car accident that put him in the hospital (he won't say which one). |
| Comment / Review | I helped my friend transfer Bitcoin once about five months ago (she got it back), and remembered that I still have the wallet address, so I'm reporting it now. I have attached screenshots of the Bitcoin wallet and some of the transactions, as well as a screenshot of my own transaction. You will see the dates in January match. The scammer has not taken any money from her yet, but I have a feeling that his "car accident" will change that and he will end up stealing money from her with symoathy gifts or from a final Bitcoin purchase. I want to stop this scam before it does any more damage.
