This is a total scam. Coz they're going to ask you for a processing fee of £70 before releasing your money.

Yeah it's a common tactic for job scammers unfortunately. It's a good thing you caught it and didn't fall for it though!

I also nearly fellfor this. Was told to type 198 pages and in two days time. I will receive £20 per image. Cannot believe this is a scam.

yup just couldnt believe they asked to convert png file to a word file... can easily be converted. nevertheless i did do it and i am waiting to scam the scammer. lol

Yes the content they promoted Barclay Career Job (BCJ) what it is in above. But I am curious if this counterfiet scammer is the a true BCJ engage in Job Hiring Freelancer outside BCJ non-staff or work in Barclay? A temporary to able complete the job?

Scammers are just using their name. If Barclays ( a huge company) needs this done, they'll do it internally, or outsource it to another company-not hire random people on freelance sites. Anyone from BCJ will use their proper work email, not just gmail who you can not verify is behind it.

This is a very common scam with translations (busy work - img to text, transcribing, proofreading) to get the victim to do this work first, which can take hours or days. Then pull a advance fee scam on the victims, claiming they need to pay upfront fees
These fees can range from:
- freelance ID
- AML (anti money laundering) fee
- fee on a fake bank/payment website the scammer directs you to
The victim pays (often due to the sunk cost fallacy) then gets nothing. Maybe MORE fees to pay the scammer.
