| Scam contents | A woman named Annabel is sending WhatsApp invites to join a fraudulent Stokvel. She gets people to pay R200, saying you will get R1000 back from the Stokvel. She sends a list of 5 people's names, claiming that they are the ones who will pay the R1000 but nothing comes back. She refuses to answer any questions. There are at least 2 others involved in the scam and dozens of people are falling for it. A friend of mine knows this lady because she lives in her area, so I think she can be easily traced. My friend was added as an Admin on the 1st group but when she realised it was a con, she removed everyone from the group and closed the group, so Annabel started a new group. The screenshots attached are from the 2nd group. The 1st one had over 70 people on it. |
