Did they ever respond? I'm doing the same research. It definitely seems too good to be true.

Yeah, if it was true, they'd have thousands of orders. No way can they even build this for $179, probably not even the $999 that was supposedly the original price. No evidence, but I am 100% sure IMO that this is a 100% scam.
