| Comment / Review | The Instagram has photos of "rentals" but they're just copy and paste images from different rental and houses that are being sold or bought. (see screenshot) A lot of scammers will list fake rentals to scam people of upfront fees and deposits. (advance fee scam) Often there is also an affiliate abuse scam, where a credit site like transunion etc will pay the scammer when the victim signs up for a background check (remember that in the US, it's on the landlord to do a bg check) The scammer could show this to a victim of a romance scam, pretend to be the agent as well and lure the victim to spend money to "buy" a fake house with this fake website/fake agent. The scammer could propose a "job" where the victim uses their credentials to post fake rental ads then lure the victims to the scammer unknowingly. In this case, they're a MULE - they're being used and as far the the police know they're in on the scam.
