Scam contentsI subscribed to a dating app that requires a paid “premium” membership to communicate. The subscription auto-renews monthly. After I stopped using the service and changed my debit card, the company sent repeated automated emails claiming I had accumulated unpaid subscription fees and threatening “legal action” if payment was not made.
The emails used intimidating language without providing any formal legal notice, jurisdiction, or documentation. Fearing legal consequences, I paid the claimed amount. The company continues to charge recurring fees unless actively blocked.
I believe this constitutes a deceptive and coercive billing practice designed to pressure users into paying through fear rather than transparent cancellation and debt recovery processes.
Comment / ReviewDating app uses auto-renewing subscriptions and sends threatening emails claiming “legal action” for unpaid fees when payments fail. No formal legal notice is provided. Messages appear designed to intimidate users into paying. Charges continue unless actively cancelled or blocked through a bank.
