| Scam contents | 🏠 Scammers will often create a fake ad (rental, job, or pretend to be interested in a car) and claim you need a credit report before going forward. Often they claim it will be "refundable" later. The scam may go different ways - often it can simply be to get your personal and credit card information and or charge bogus fees. Another common scam is an affiliate link abuse scam. The scammer have a link or creates a fake website that will forward you to sign up on a different credit monitoring site (like transunion, freecreditscore etc) when you sign up, the scammer gets commissions from their affiliate link. You are also then put on a subscription from the site that may be hard to cancel. |
| Comment / Review | If you're looking for a rental, you need to see the rental IN PERSON and meet the landlord or property manager.
