| Scam contents | Tested me for a remote job position. Made an offer which I accepted and signed. Then asked me to purchase a laptop from a "company-authorized retailer", promising to send a check to cover the expenses. This typical scam scheme is described in Reddit. |
| Comment / Review | I reached out to the legit owner of the company through LinkedIn and they confirmed the scammer is not affiliated with the company.

Same exact thing just happened to me. This guy operates under a different phone number sometimes and went by the name 'Michael Saunders' for me, pretending to be Kroll LLC. Been searching for a job for 4 months and this is extremely frustrating.

Tried to get me to deposit a check, and send some of the money to his son because his “bank wasn’t working”.

I received an email from "Justin Tucker" with a job offer for a remote editing position from a legitimate company (which I later confirmed is NOT hiring and knows no one named "Justin Tucker". The offer was too good to be true, but I fell for it. After completing a few interview questionnaires, he said I was to receive a check with which to purchase my "office equipment", as well as receiving equipment from the company. Confused, I asked him to clarify, but he didn't reply. He then texted me from this phone number, asking to confirm my phone number. I had already sent him pictures of my New Jersey Driver's License.
