| Scam contents | I was contacted by someone claiming to be my supervisor, who trained me on a platform called better growth work. Everything appeared legitimate—the website had the same logo as the real Verifone, along with company registration details, FAQs, and customer support. I was added to a WhatsApp group with 41 other people discussing their daily tasks, which made it all seem real. For the first three days, I made a profit. However, on the third day, my money got stuck in a 3-combo task, leading to a negative balance. I kept adding funds, eventually spending $6,700 to complete the task. Just as I was about to finish, another huge order came up, pushing my account to -$12,980. Customer support claimed it was triggered by the platform and said I needed to clear the balance to get my money back. At that point, I realized it was a scam. Despite promises from the supposed supervisor that we could recover my funds, I understood they were only deceiving me further. After more research, adding the word “scam” to my search, I found similar reports on Reddit. Unfortunately, I fell victim to a bait-and-switch scam. |
