| Scam contents | So today I made a purchase, and after the purchase a pop-up appeared, purporting to be a survey about cookware on behalf of the Myer company. So I did the survey, as the carrot was the possibility of winning a set of this cookware. Surprise, surprise, I won a set of cookware, for the lowly cost of AUD$3.00 to cover postage and handling. So this I did (yes, stupid, right?). Next thing I receive an email from a mob called investerix(.com). that this 3.00 is in fact part of an ongoing subscription. The real company is a Czech company (SWITCH DIGITAL s.r.o), masquerading as this investerix thing, and they're in the business of cryptocurrency and such. Not what I've signed up to, so I cancelled my card that covered this transaction. Has anybody seen such thing embedded in the eBay system, and how can it be combated? TIA, and have a great Christmas one and all. |
