Thank you for posting. Just got 2 sms's, 15 mins apart for different amounts. Checked online and was put at ease with your warning. I contacted Std Bank anyway and they have confirmed this to be a SCAM.

Just received an SMS. First response was to check the quoted number on Google, and came across this site. Thanks a ton for the warning. Now blocking the number.
