Scam contentsWe thought we were booking a hotel room for 2 nights in Ohio in June 2020. The sight led us to believe that we were not going thru a 3rd party.
We thought we were paying $146.42 per night plus state & local taxes for a total of $292.84. and estimated state & local tax of $38.07. Grand total of $330.91.
We went ahead & booked the reservation.
We received confirmation very quickly. The confirmation came "confirmations@hotelvalues.com) They had the price of the room listed correctly. There was no mention of the state & local taxes. However there was a "Tax Recovery" charge of $161.72. for a total credit card charge of $454.56.
This bogus fee was never mentioned until we received our confirmation. The phone number associated to the business is
800-327--1200. we called it immediately. We put on hold for close to 20 minutes. The rep finally answered and offered to discount the room 10%. but no wavier of the "Tax Recovery" We wouldn't do business with them if the room was free. After a few minutes of haggling
they agreed to reverse all charges.
Comment / ReviewBeware of this site. I do not blame Holiday Inn even though they did get the reservation. They were the ones' that related that Priceline.com was actually the 3rd party in this transaction
