Scam contents | I’m selling a car on Facebook marketplace. “Andie” messaged me asking about buying the car. We spent some time talking and set up a time for her to view the vehicle. A few hours before the scheduled time, she required a VIN check report from “wisevin.com.” I used ScamDoc to check the reliability of the website and it has a 1% rating. Her Facebook had no info on it other than a name and photo. She pushed for me to use the WiseVin even after I offered to use almost any other platform. I blocked her and reported the website here. |

For anyone not ware, these are fake VIN reports - often scam sites made to charge you for inaccurate reports and steal your credit card information.

same thing happened to me. A pushy "buyer" on facebook marketplace kept insisting that he needed to see the wisevin.com report, said it had more information, even though I had posted a carfax report for the vehicle I was selling. When I finally pulled the report he backed off. He just wanted to see a picture of the report in the facebook chat.
The wisevin.com report had nothing in it. Just very basic info about my vehicle. They just wanted me to pay for a bogus report
