| Scam contents | I am flying to London next month and I applied for my UK ETA on this website because it came up right at the top of Google and looks like the official service, and they charged me one hundred and seventy dollars, and when I later checked the actual GOV.UK website the ETA costs about twenty pounds. Twenty. Pounds. I am still angry about it. There is a service fee buried in the checkout that you only notice if you read the small print very carefully, and apparently if you are not careful the order quietly switches to an "expedited" option that costs even more. I did not even need it expedited. I just wanted the ETA. They refused my refund request and pointed me to their terms and conditions, which of course nobody reads. I have reported the charge to my bank and I am also letting everyone I know in Canada: the only place to apply for an ETA is GOV.UK. This site is a middleman that charges you five times the real price and keeps the difference. |
