email from James Lupton . Is this a scam?

| Details / precisions | James Lupton has emailed me saying his friend Doreen Boyd < doreen.boyd@niwater.com> gave him my email after her boss died and company folded. He asks me for a quote to do a job. I don't know either of them and have not opened attachment. I was suspicious also because james' email is given as niallfrankd1@msn.com. This turns out to be a laminate co in Scotland; I rang them and they said they do not know James . There was a string of genuine sounding emails included in the trail but i cannot think how "Doreen" would have my personal email. I suspect this is a scam. Has anyone come across it?

This seems fishy especially since you called and they confirmed they do not know James.

I got the same email but from Jon Allgood with the exact hallmarks of email string, dead boss, Doreen taking care of a sick husband, quote 4 a job....ect. it's a scam. The actual Doreen Boyd's Obituary is the 1st thing that pops in a search on her!!

Had the same email thanks to this scam watcher we didn’t open the attachment… think they are trying to hack into your computer when you put in your password through the attachment they send… absolute scum!!!

I got the same email from Willian Bryan. I have not opened the attachment. Glad i am here checking this first. They have sent to my business email, and i got very suspicious.
